Tonight all the TV channels are showing the debate between McCain and Obama. I’m glad that all of America will have the opportunity to see these two gentlemen in a live show answering questions from the audience.

I am still undecided as to how I want to vote this year. I have serious reservations about both of the candidates. I wish there was a box to check on the ballot that says “None of the above” and that if more people check that box than they check for one of the candidates, then the election is void and they have start over with new candidates.

My two favorite TV shows come on Sunday nights. I love The Amazing Race, which comes on at 8:00. That is the perfect time for a Sunday - everyone has had dinner and settled down for the night, so I can sit down and relax for an hour.

I don’t like the show that comes on after the Race, so I get up and rush about the house doing an hour’s worth of chores. I usually get a couple loads of laundry done, clean up the kitchen, and run the vacuum in the living room and other downstairs rooms. Then I wash my face, put on my PJs and settle in for my second favorite show, The Unit, which comes on at 10:00.

After watching that team of the most macho guys on TV for an hour, I’m ready for bed! Good night!

Just heard on the news that the Las Vegas trial with O J Simpson accused of busting into a hotel room with a gang of armed thugs to steal memoriabilia that he claims was rightfully his. Well, the jury didn’t buy his lies this time and he’s been convicted on all counts. He could be facing about 20 years in jail.

I say it’s about time they put that creep away. I have no doubt that he killed his wife and that boy all those years ago and it’s a shame that he got away with it. But your bad deeds will eventually catch up with you, and this time justice prevailed.

As the weather gets cooler, our appetites turn toward comfort foods, like macaroni and cheese, chili, meatloaf, and other good and hearty foods.

Tonight I’m going to make up a batch of oatmeal cookies. I like to use the recipe that is on the inside of the lid of the Quaker Oats oatmeal box. This recipe is called, “Disappearing Oatmeal Cookies” and the name fits the product. No matter how many cookies I bake in the batch, they never last longer than a day or two. Everyone walking through the kitchen can’t help but grab a handful of the cookies to take with them.

Thank goodness for the spellchecker. I don’t know why I have such a hard time spelling any more. I know how to spell. I just can’t seem to get my fingers to type the letters that my brain wants to see! So I do try to spell correctly, but if I miss a few the Typo Fairy must have been here.
